As I’ve grown and evolved as a photographer, telling stories, documenting, being a fly on the wall, that is what has made my heart sing the most. I want to know about your family, your life, your personalities, your inside jokes, your traditions. I want your photos to reflect who you are as a family unit, a team. I’m so excited to introduce to you the STORYTELLER SESSION, where I will take a backseat to capture your life for a little while. You’ll forget I’m there, be entirely yourselves, let your kids run wild, and be fully present.
A Saturday morning, cooking pancakes, drinking coffee and lounging about in the winter sun. The kids are playing with the dog, jumping on the trampoline, reading by the fire or whatever other activities your kids just love to do! An afternoon in town getting ice-cream, playing in the park and exploring the streets and the old buildings that line them. A Friday evening, a campfire, s’mores, and a couple of wild kids riding their bikes around the neighborhood. A rainy afternoon spent inside making a cake, reading books, doing a puzzle and curled up on the couch with a hot cup of coffee. You name it, I’ll be there ready to tell your story.
“But my house isn’t ‘aesthetic!’” Let me be the first to tell you that I understand. We live in a world that is so caught up in materialism, perfection, aesthetics, and keeping up with trends. I want you to ask yourself, who are you really doing these photos for? Is it to impress some random person on the internet who you’ll never meet, or is it for you and your family? Your kids don’t care about aesthetics. Mine decorate my house with trucks and blocks and their sweet little pieces of art they create all day. Trust me, they’d rather look back at photos of the house they grew up in and remember their REAL childhood memories – the mess, the chaos, the imperfection. That’s what it’s all about!
